Is delivered by Egedal Fjernvarme

change list[edit]

  1. Mounted Danfoss Icon on 3D printed brackets
  2. Changed the way the tube for overflow was mounted. Now it has a free fall
  3. Changed the pump setting to Auto Constant Flow - this is the recommended setting from Grundfoss
  4. Added an Ethernet connection so that Danfoss Leanhead.com can be used to see remote data
  5. Added a 2-wire between my Danfoss Icon Floor Heating Controller can put the Heat Exchance Unit in "Sleep Mode" by connecting a Potential Free connection to the ECL-120 Controller

Pump Upm3 IMG 4624.jpg

Controlling the Heat Exchange Unit from Danfoss Icon Floor Heating Controller[edit]

To allow the Floor Heating System to be able to put the Heat Exchange Unit to Sleep when no rooms/zones is asking for heat. And to stop unnecessary energy to be lost by having the pump in the Heat Exchanger and Floor Heating system. The Icon Controller can ask to stop these and put them into Energy Saving Mode. To do this the Floor Heating system pump is connected to a Relay output on the Icon controller. Another relay switch can be used to tell the Heat Exchanger to stop when no zones is asking for heat.

To make this possible you both have to wire this and set this up in the ECL-120 controller using the App from a Bluetooth connection. You have to setup the input as: "Sparedrift I overstyringstilstand afbrudt tilstand"

See below image from my App setup:

When the ECL-120 input is in open mode (no connection from the relay output from the Icon Controller) then the ECL-120 unit goes into Power Saving mode.

See the result here where the Icon Controller is in OPEN mode. You here see the "Moon" symbol is active. The Heat Exchanger is in saving mode.
