change list[edit]
- Mounted Danfoss Icon on 3D printed brackets
- Changed the way the water overflow tube was routed. Now it has a free fall without any arcs that could store water in plateaus.
- Changed the pump setting to Auto Constant Flow - this is the recommended setting from Grundfoss
- Added an Ethernet connection so that Danfoss Leanhead.com can be used to see remote data

- Added a 2-wire between my Danfoss Icon Floor Heating Controller can put the Heat Exchance Unit in "Sleep Mode" by connecting a Potential Free connection to the ECL-120 Controller
- Udeføler (ESMT) er forkert placeret. Denne skal altid placeres på bygningens koldeste facade, typisk mod nord. Føleren må ikke udsættes for morgensol. (link to description), page 13

Danfoss ECL controller Overview[edit]
Danfoss ECL series: Intelligent temperature controllers for district heating, cooling, and domestic hot water systems, optimizing comfort and energy use.The Danfoss ECL series stands as intelligent temperature controllers specifically designed for district heating (DH), district cooling (DC), and domestic hot water systems (DHW). Central to their functionality is weather compensation, a key feature shared across the controllers. Equipped with built-in or dedicated application keys, the ECL series ensures adaptability to various district heating setups, promoting a high level of comfort and optimizing energy utilization. These controllers serve as reliable, practical solutions for achieving precise temperature control and energy efficiency in diverse heating and cooling applications
ECL 120 for 1 circuit (In a normal house connected to the District Heating Pipe system, you normally only have one circuit, as in our case) ECL 210 for 2 circuits ECL 296 for 2 circuits ECL 310 for 3 circuits Circuits means who many heating circuits it can control (including 3-point valve and heat exchanger units)

Termix ECL App[edit]
ECL Go App
The ECL Go App is to operate the ECL Comfort 120. The App is available for Android 8 and higher as well as for iOS 14 and higher. It is an Installer commissioning tool (and not an end user WiFi remote device) for controller and uses Bluetooth to connect with the ECL controller within a 1.5 meter range.

Controlling the Heat Exchange Unit from Danfoss Icon Floor Heating Controller[edit]
To allow the Floor Heating System to be able to put the Heat Exchange Unit to Sleep when no rooms/zones is asking for heat. And to stop unnecessary energy to be lost by having the pump in the Heat Exchanger and Floor Heating system. The Icon Controller can ask to stop these and put them into Energy Saving Mode. To do this the Floor Heating system pump is connected to a Relay output on the Icon controller. Another relay switch can be used to tell the Heat Exchanger to stop when no zones is asking for heat.
To make this possible you both have to wire this. I used a 2x1.5mm2 wire blue and brown as the note said.
Wiring of the Icon Floor Heating Controller[edit]
Here the installation on my Icon Floor Heating Controller:
On the upper yellow arrow you see the relay controlling the galvanically isolated output (Open / Closed). The lower yellow arrow shows the wire I connected and routed to the ECL-120 main controller.

Making a connection between the Termix ECL-120 box and Leanheat portal[edit]
with connection to internet via LAN
Logging in on the Portal[edit]
Wiring of the ECL-102 controller[edit]
The other end is connected according to the Termix ECL-120 Quick Guide, page 13
As my controller is the Icon (Not Icon 2) then is only have one switching output which is wired with blue and brown wires as seen on the Icon output
App setup for the enabling of External Input[edit]
To setup this in the ECL-120 controller. You have to use the Danfoss ECL App with a Bluetooth connection. You have to setup the input as: "Sparedrift I overstyringstilstand afbrudt tilstand"
See below image from my App setup:
When the ECL-120 input is in open mode (no connection from the relay output from the Icon Controller) then the ECL-120 unit goes into Power Saving mode.
Verification of the setup and wiring[edit]
To verify is the settings and wiring is OK you can make sure your Icon controller signals the ECL-120 to go to Power Saving mode by lowering the heat thermostats in all rooms.
Here you can see the result and the Icon Controller is in OPEN mode. The ECL-120 turns on the "Moon" LED to show the Power Saving mode is is active. Now Termix Heat Exchanger is in saving mode.
